GNARLY SWEATY DROOL (an homage to TLC)

Oh my we had a RIDICULOUS time in Philly/NYC/Charlottesville this past weekend!!! Some highlights:

Censoring punk for children, dogs and old people at Penn Treaty Park. Then a lot of pizza!
Watching Smashing Pumpkins Vieuphoria with RR and Family Trees at RR's Mansion.
Ginger beer.....really beer with ginger.
Gnarly sweaty hairy set at Live at the Pyramids in Williamsburg.
Beach Fossils old and new all actually being at our show, ON TIME!
Noodle shop by the Cake Shop with waiter who could break out into song at any moment.
Getting two parking tickets on Friday the 13th!!!! YIKES.
Playing a Gretsch hollow body because of a broken string- mellow punk!

Meanwhile our song POGO came out for free download. if you haven't checked it yet, here it be:

the other also amazing Neil

Speaking of Neil- we got asked to be part of a Neil Young compilation recently. Has anyone ever noticed how after listening to a bunch of Neil Young you are usually emotionally changed for the sadder afterwards? Heavy and beautiful stuff. Could make a person really depressed depending. I think we know which song we are gonna do but it's hush hush right now. If you have a good suggestion let us know!

Also we got our first review of Silver this week here: http://www.ifc.com/news/2010/08/eternal-summers-silver.php
Yeah I know...The Independent Film Channel? HAHAHAHAHA!

And a song that I wish we could do:

northside and such!

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AT NORTHSIDE! Seriously it was a blast. One band I would highly recommend after seeing them live is Viernes, who just put out a record this past month on Kanine Records. They look like this:

Their live show is so tight, dynamic, dramatic, raw! You have to see them!!! We are getting so psyched about our friends Reading Rainbow and Woven Bones coming here this weekend. AGAIN if you don't have plans on Sunday from 3pm-.... you should come cook out/hang/see the bands do their thang. SEE YOU THERE!!!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TREES!

We are so excited about this weekend! we will be playing two VA shows with some of our best friends in the world! First there is the aforementioned, with our great pals from Brooklyn, Family Trees who just put out a rad 7" on FatherDaughter Records that you should check out called "Dream Talkin." Also my high school bandmate has a sweet power pop band from DC called Greenland, and also the brilliant Andrew Cedermark. SWEET BILL.

ALSO on Saturday we will be having a music love fest with HOT LAVA, the Sad Cobras and Family Trees at Strange Matter (the old cafe 929/Nanci Raygun). Should be RIDICULOUS! and super bittersweet as it is HOT LAVA's last show with this lineup. tears of sorrow.
