chilly chili! and FRIENDS!

First of all, this past weekend was SICK! Not only did it snow blankets and blankets, but Rob and Sarah of the illustrious Reading Rainbow came down to our humble Mystic Fortress to record some of the most ridiculous songs EVER. it was epic and beautiful. you will be blown away once these recordings get out- but i will not be the one to ruin the surprise... go to their blog and check out the antics that ensued.

Secondly i made the best chili i have ever made in my life. It goes something like this:

2 lb ground beef
2 sweet red peppers diced
1 1/2 yellow onions diced
1 28 oz can whole tomatoes
1/2 jar of garlic spaghetti sauce
1 lb great northern beans
1 lb black, pinto, or what have you beans
4 cloves garlic minced

2 tbsp agave nectar
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp bbq sauce
6 tbsp jiffy corn muffin mix
1 chipotle pepper in adobo pureed
1 tsp of adobo
2 tbsp cumin
1/2 tsp allspice
salt to taste

brown beef in a big pot. add onions and peppers and sautee til soft. spoon of excess fat. add all other ingredients. simmer for 1-2 hours or until you are tired of watching it.
