Hey friends! We have been busy in the studio cranking out our second LP! It has been a real grueling process but we are really happy with the way things are turning out. We are lucky enough to work with our past recording engineer Joe Lunsford who has been with us from the beginning, as well as our new friend and brand new third member of Reading Rainbow, Al Creedon. The two of them have collaborated to bring our analog sound into the modern world, in a sense. It has been mind blowing!
Also we are heading up to NYC next week to play a couple shows at CMJ, but more importantly to mix our album with two gentlemen we respect a lot! More details on that soon.
In the mean time might I suggest this album:
I have been obsessed with it for a couple months now. Todd Rundgren produced it. It's amazing!!!!

That was AWESOME
Hey! We are back from tour with Reading Rainbow. Best things about tour in random order:
10. Sweet hangs at the Bottletree in Birmingham, AL
9. Listening to Agalloch in the van right before our Northampton show. grrrrrr!
8. Knowing that Rob and Al from RR were going to fix all our problems! Both with gear and life.
7. Stereotypical girl time with Sarah. Her hair looked great after we went to the salon! (teehee)
6. Finally paying attention to Jonathan's stage moves (better than bass face!)
5. Daniel's sweat drenched clothes after each show. He could wring out his shirt. PUNK!
4. Chocolate.
3. Listening to RR every night!
2. The raddest, most intelligent, most loyal fans ever! Blown away by your awesomeness!
1. Being with Reading Rainbow every day for 2 weeks!
Here are some photos taken by our new favorite NYC photographer Maryanne Ventrice of our penultimate show at Glasslands in Brooklyn:
COOOOL! We have a show coming up this Friday at a new-ish Roanoke venue called the Horse Shoe with two awesome local bands Heevahava and the Situationist. AND we head back into the studio next week to start recording our SECOND ALBUM!!!!!! We are STOKED!

REMIX and more!
We are excited that our good pal John Pena of the amazing Beach Fossils was able to remix "Pure Affection," which, though I am biased is probably one of the best remixes I have heard in recent times. You can check it out at Altered Zones!!!
Also....lookie lookie! Our dates with Reading Rainbow are UP!!!! It will be glorious....we will be like a flying V of post-apocalyptic golden slum gulls...or whatever!

new new new!
Sorry for not posting in a while! Our US tour was so fun and of course it was great going out there with our pals the Beets! Below is a short but fun film of us in San Diego, enjoying a thrill together.
We are pleased to introduce a new member to the group, Jonathan. We had a great tour with bassist Sam, but due to his many musical roles in many different groups (The Young Sinclairs, Rootstone, Joneski, PLUGGGG, Chopter, and more) our time together has been cut short. Jonathan will be with us for the next dates and is also a key member in The Sad Cobras, Young Sinclairs, and The Missonaries (VA not NYC). If you are at our live shows please welcome him as he is a bassist extraordinaire, a scholar, and a gentleman!
We are also pleased to announce that a new 7" Split will be coming out very shortly with our pals The Super Vacations. For more info check this:
Also we are especially excited about our two upcoming shows with the Raveonettes! Here is a song off their new album that gives me goosebumps.

Girls in the City
HAAAY! We have been at home for a bit, practicing, writing and getting pumped for tour! In the meantime we've debuted a new song from our Prisoner EP called "Cog" which you can check out here: http://www.alteredzones.com/posts/1306/eternal-summers-cog/
one day we will shake this "beachy" curse on our head. it's the source of minor frustration.
If you have pre-ordered our Prisoner Vinyl it is on it's way so please be patient. Record presses are finnicky places!
Here is a weird bit of footage of MACRoCk 2011, and a brand new song called "Girls in the City," which features Daniel on some moody Lee Ranaldo/dark wave style vocals. Enjoy!
